COMMENTS: | The setup used for the absorption measurements consists of a 30 W deuterium lamp providing a continuum beam extending from 200 to 400 nm.
The issued light is focused onto the entrance of a Jobin Yvon HR 640 spectrometer equipped with a 2400 line mm-1 grating with a
dispersion of 0.66 nm -1. At the exit slit of the monochromator, the light passes through the absorption cell (1.6 m in length and 2 cm in diameter). The signal is collected by a photomultiplier tube (Hamamatsu R 955) connected to a microcomputer used for data acquisition. The width of the entrance slit is set to 80 mm yielding a spectral resolution of 0.05 nm. |
